We Raised £20,000 for Charity in 2022!
Thanks to our amazing fundraisers and supporters, we are proud to announce that we have raised an incredible £20,000 for charity this year!
From a raffle to sleeping outside overnight in our car park, our people went above and beyond to raise money for various charities, including Newark Emmaus Trust and our charity of the year, St John Ambulance.
Hunting for Chocolate (Virtually!)
We kickstarted our fundraising efforts in April with a virtual Easter egg hunt. In the digital hunt, we hid 10 eggs on different pages of our website. Our people paid £10 to take part, and it was an eggcellent triumph! Our apprentice, Thomas Dowell, was crowned ultimate egg hunter, taking home the winning prize — a Hotel Chocolat Egg. The money raised went to St John Ambulance, a nationwide volunteer-led health and first aid charity.
Laptop Sale Extravaganza
Old laptop stock provided us with the perfect excuse to raise even more money for St John Ambulance. Staff who wished to refurbish a laptop (or simply buy a device for friends or family) could take home one of our older, unused laptops without a hard drive. All they had to do was donate £20 to our fundraising pot. The sale was a brilliant success, raising almost £3,000 for St John Ambulance.
Braving the Cold
In the summer, we hosted the first of our Digital Space Challenge events — The Big Sleep Out. 24 of our colleagues spent a night sleeping outside, setting up tents or sleeping bags in the Digital Space Head Office car park, to raise money and awareness for the homeless.
We raised more than £3,300, with the proceeds going to the Newark Emmaus Trust. This charity provides young homeless people between the ages of 16 and 25 with accommodation, support, and training — from self-contained flats and family units for young parents and their babies, to shared housing for young people in general.
A Festive Fundraiser
Earlier this month, we held a raffle and silent auction. Many colleagues took part, with some donating hundreds of pounds. Thanks to prizes from our vendor partners — including a Nintendo Switch and a weekend getaway — we raised an amazing £2,777! The proceeds were split equally between St John Ambulance and Newark Emmaus Trust.
But That’s Not All
We are also proud to have supported charities such as Movember (raising more than £1,000), Prince’s Trust, London Marathon, Macmillan Cancer Support, Campaign Against Living Miserably, and the Trussell Trust.
Our people value these experiences, and in the coming year, we aim to continue our fundraising efforts and participation in support of even more great causes.
