Microsoft has changed its licensing structure and pricing alongside the launch of its new CSP (Cloud Solutions Provider) programme - New Commerce Experience (NCE). This is a significant change from Microsoft, but Digital Space is here to help, and we’ve answered some key questions on the changes.
Microsoft licensing changes FAQs: Your questions answered
Microsoft has retired its Open Licensing programme, replacing it with a new CSP (Cloud Solutions Provider) programme - New Commerce Experience (NCE) - for purchasing Microsoft software and cloud services. Alongside this, Microsoft prices are increasing by 20% for those wishing to stay on a monthly model. But it’s not all bad news as we are helping organisations access a minimum 5% reduction on their current Microsoft contracts when they renew on the NCE platform before 31 March. You can pay your reduced bill on a monthly basis without the 20 per cent price increase.
At the start of your next Microsoft agreement, you’ll have a 72-hour window to downgrade licenses, if you change your mind about something. After this, the window only increases, and upgrades will be allowed.
