As the UK’s leading port operator, Associated British Ports [ABP] boasts a network of 21 ports across Britain. A vital part of the UK’s supply chain, it handles around one quarter of the nation’s seaborne trade, contributing £7.5 billion to the economy every year, whilst supporting 119,000 jobs.
ABP originally appointed Digital Space in 2011 to provide a reliable IT infrastructure and connectivity solution across all 21 ports. Following impressive results, ABP has since renewed its contract with Digital Space three times and most recently in 2019.
A key, strategic technology partner for ABP, Digital Space has implemented a secure managed Private Wide Area Network (PWAN) to deliver flexible, secure, and efficient communications between sites, together with the provision of a bespoke and secure Hybrid Cloud infrastructure and Business Continuity platform. This caters for ABP’s unique requirements and in being delivered from the Digital Space data centre and directly connecting to the PWAN, it forms a complete end to end managed solution.
Digital Space continues to work with ABP and is focused on improving quality, mitigating risk, increasing agility, and reducing control costs via the provision of progressive connected, productive, and secure solutions.
